Is Your Pet Registered?

The City of Dallas requires every dog and cat be vaccinated either annually or tri-annually for rabies and wear a registration tag obtained from Dallas Animal Services.  Valid registration allows Dallas Animals Services to quickly locate you and ensure that your pet is safely returned to you if you lose your pet. It will also increase the likelihood that your pet will receive emergency medical care if needed and an extended stay at our shelter if they need extra time to locate you.

To obtain a registration tag, owners need to present a certificate of vaccination  and pay an annual registration fee.  Fees are $7 for spayed or neutered animals, or $30 for unaltered animals. Owners of animals that are not spayed or neutered must also obtain special intact animal permits at a price of $70 annually.   Registration is free for residents 65 years and older for up to 3 altered pets.

Registration tags may be obtained at Dallas Animal Services Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. or by mail to :Dallas Animal Registration, 1818 N. Westmoreland, Dallas, Texas 75212.  For more information, call Dallas Animal Services at 214-671-0106.

Residents outside the City of Dallas should check with their local animal services department for pet registration requirements.
